Bookmarks
Bookmarks work similar to how tags work on standard tabs when reviewing artifacts. You can select a data segment of special interest and bookmark it to quickly find and select the data segment later.
Bookmarks are saved in the extraction files. You can see added bookmarks in the file browser and the file property pane.
Procedures
- In the ribbon, click Bookmarks.
You can also right-click selected Hex or ASCII data segment, and then select New bookmark. - In the empty text box, type a name for the bookmark, and then click OK.
- Click the drop-down arrow, and select a bookmark color.
- Select a bookmark in the file browser or the file properties pane.
- In the pane that shows settings for selected objects, under Description, type the comment you want to add.
Note: If you add a comment to a bookmarked segment, the comment is not added to any other segment that has the same bookmark.
- In the file browser, select the file you want to examine.
- In the file browser, select the bookmark you want to see.
- To highlight a bookmarked data segment, in the file properties pane, select a bookmark.
- Select a bookmark in the file browser or the file properties pane.
- In the details pane, click Remove.
- In the ribbon, click Bookmarks.
- In the Bookmark selection window, click Edit.
- Click the drop-down arrow for the bookmark you want to change, and then select a color.
- In the text box for the bookmark you want to change, type a name, and then click Done.
